Apple Crumble cake by Luca Montersino



This a fabulous cake, it will make you fall in love with apples all over again!

Following our recipe below, prepare the crust pastry then line a round baking tin, about 22 cm diameter. Fill it with the lovely thick custard, top it with the cubed apples ( small cubes please), and finish off with a layer of crumble.  Off it goes into a preheated oven at 180C for 45 minutes.

If you time it well this cake is not very time consuming; you can make the pastry and the cream well ahead so that they have plenty of time to rest in the fridge and cool off . Then assemble the cake and bake it.
