Polpette al Sugo

 Ingredients

For the meatballs:

400 g lean beef mince 

50g grated parmesan

1 tbsp chopped parsley

1 egg

1 slice of bread soaked in milk

1 pinch of salt


For the sauce:

2 cans chopped tomatoes (we recommend Polpa Mutti)

2 garlic cloves

2 tbsp olive oil

6 basil leaves

salt to taste


Method


Start with the sauce. In a heavy pan heat the olive oil and garlic cloves. Once the oil is hot add the chopped tomatoes, salt and basil. Cook on a low heat for about 20 minutes.

Prepare the meatballs; mince the slice of bread soaked in milk, mix it with the rest of the ingredients. Form the meatballs. 

Drop the meatballs in the boiling sauce, so that the heat seals them straight away. Lower the heat and cook for about half an hour.

Enjoy the meatballs and use the remaining sauce for pasta.
